1. What is Speedminton®?

Speedminton® is the official equipment brand behind the fast-paced racket sport known as Crossminton. Combining the best elements of badminton, tennis, and squash, Crossminton can be played anywhere — no net required.

With specialised shuttles called Speeders, this dynamic game is perfect for outdoor play in parks, beaches, ovals, and particularly school-yard sports.

2. What are the rules of Crossminton?

Crossminton is typically played on two square courts (5.5m x 5.5m) placed 12.8 metres apart.

  • Players serve underarm from the centre of their own court.
  • A rally continues until the Speeder lands.
  • A point is scored when the Speeder lands in the opponent’s court — or if your opponent hits it out.

Matches are played as the best of 3 sets, with each set played to 16 points (win by 2). There are also doubles, junior, and modified formats to suit all skill levels.

3. How is Crossminton different from other racket sports?

Crossminton stands out thanks to its unique Speeder, a patented shuttle designed to fly straighter and farther than a traditional badminton shuttle — even in the wind.

  • No net means quicker setup and flexible play areas.
  • Games can be played on grass, sand, asphalt or indoors.
  • Use the Night Speeder with glow sticks for evening play.
